Formerly On Investments, the brand was part of a core business, but needed to stand on its own, with a more high-end exterior and a brand strategy to help them claim the market position and reputation they deserved. On Investments as a name wasn’t going to give their services the longevity and capacity for success it needed, and we helped them completely rebrand their business.
Focusing on the notion of ‘real time-wealth’ as a brand promise that communicates how their products work in real time to save you time and money, we created the name Recreo. Formed from the Latin words ‘Re’ meaning back/again and ‘Creo’ for create/produce, Recreo means to restore, revive and re-create. It’s also the Spanish verb for recreation and play, and together this speaks to Recreo’s distinguishing feature in the market – their innovative, high performance software that re-creates how you spend your time, restoring your time and giving you more freedom.
Aiming to capture the idea that Recreo products and services allow you to achieve more in the same timeframe, we based the Recreo visual identity around the 12 chapters of a clock face. We created custom typography for the brand name, constructing the R with cues from a clock hand. A colour palette of carbon, a material both light and strong, and copper, a long-lasting premium material, matched perfectly with Recreo’s innovative and intelligent products.
A successful brand requires more than striking visuals and a great name – Recreo needed to find a dynamic and surprising way to explain their process without confusing or overwhelming people. We designed the Recreo Engine as a sleek symbol of the unique, finely tuned and high performance Recreo process. It doesn’t look like a regular engine, because Recreo isn’t typical, everyday, or average. It’s a one of a kind, futuristic engine that does what others can’t, in new and exciting ways.
