Onterran, formerly Nomad Building Solutions, contacted DAIS in 2015 looking to rejuvenate their brand strategy. After comprehensive research and brand discovery we separated the ASX-listed company from its construction-based subsidiaries to create a parent organisation and a house of brands. This allowed us to develop a fresh new brand strategy, to reposition and represent the business more authentically.
Brand Name Development
The original name, Nomad, was a better fit for their innovative modular construction business, not the parent company, and so we created an entirely new brand identity – Onterran. As an ASX-listed entity dealing in mergers and acquisitions, it was important that the company communicate their stability, trustworthiness and solid performance.
As a name, Onterran takes inspiration from the company’s solid foundations and business structures grounded in acumen, on terra firma. We also developed the language, structures and brand voice to support this name, so that Onterran could present a cohesive, refreshed brand to their market from the get-go.
Visual Identity Strategy
Onterran’s visual identity complements the strong, grounded feel of the name and the strategy – they needed to look strong, intelligent and sophisticated. Simple typographic choices and a balanced, modern monogram icon create a look that is clean, confident and prestigious.
We matched this simple, classic logotype with a contemporary visual identity system inspired by terra firma and investment data – every part of the brand connects back to Onterran’s ethos and business methodology.
