10 Chances for Change: Redefining Hailo

DAIS’s 10 Chances for Change initiative amplifies innovations aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In 2024 we partnered with Hailo to evolve, strengthen and solidify their market presence.

Hailo’s founder, Santi, inspired by his own experiences as a blind person, developed an app that allows people with disabilities to access public transport independently. However, the team faced challenges in expanding Hailo’s impact, with external stakeholders and investors struggling to understand its far-reaching value.

Change Activists – walk the talk

Santi is determined to make the invisible, visible.

Through stakeholder workshops and competitor analysis, DAIS identified Hailo’s mission to empower individuals by delivering independence through technology.

This insight shaped a strong and clear brand, that would resonate with commuters, public transport operators, councils, and potential investors.

The brand strategy reframed the owners’ self-perception to see themselves not as just App developers, but as both Change Activists and a that provides software, integrations and innovations. This new language allowed them to deliver a clear and powerful message to investors and other stakeholders.

Flipping the script on accessibility

DAIS repositioned Hailo as a tech disruptor that empowers lives.

The refreshed brand embodies the philosophy of ‘Me-Powered Living’, emphasising personal empowerment through technology.

A bold new visual identity, featuring a Braille-inspired ‘H’ symbolises inclusivity and innovation, honouring Santi’s purpose to deliver a solution that allows blind people to access public transport without having to rely on the help of others.

From the kick-off meeting, it was evident that Hailo had a unique brand personality, and capturing that in their tone of voice was an essential part of making the brand feel authentic and human.

From EmPower to MePower

DAIS delivered a comprehensive brand strategy, including investor-ready assets, strong narratives, and updated collateral that ensured consistency across all touchpoints. The new Hailo brand identity is bold, oozing with attitude and places Hailo firmly in the innovative tech space.

Hailo now stands ready to expand its impact, delivering independence and connection to communities worldwide.
