Carving out a bold new position for a mineral resource company with a brand that embodies their innovation, collaborative spirit and commitment to shaping sustainable futures.

Since 2017, SGME has been reshaping the mineral sector with future-focused solutions that help their partners safeguard the value of the environments they mine. While innovation, collaboration and sustainability were at the core of their business, their brand identity felt disconnected from this vision and struggled to clearly communicate their difference. SGME partnered with DAIS to create a rebrand that not only brought their environmental focus and pioneering spirit to life but also provided the structure to articulate the full breadth of their offerings.

Unearthing what makes them different

After facilitating workshops with key stakeholders, leadership interviews and extensive competitor research, DAIS identified SGME’s unique point of difference: their integration of geoscientific, ecological and geotechnical expertise within a collaborative culture. This provided an opportunity to position them as long-term partners who deliver sustainable, future-focused outcomes across the entire mining and quarrying lifecycle. DAIS developed a strategic framework and brand system that made SGME’s multidisciplinary culture and enduring value tangible, both internally for teams and externally for clients and partners.

Breaking new ground

DAIS crafted a brand strategy that places SGME in a groundbreaking new position within the mineral sector as Geoforming Solution Partners, while the brand promise, Engineering New Environments, captures their future-focused approach. To define SGME’s offerings, we developed four clear solution streams: Assess, Advise, Design, Manage, making their expertise tangible and displayed as a client-facing process.

Sub-brands, including SGME Lab for environmental testing, and the SGME Innovations Incubator for R&D, showcase their breadth, from practical delivery to future-focused thought leadership. Internally, the SGme³ framework unites disciplines across geoscience, ecology, and geotechnology. Externally, a bold, modern wordmark and logo, grounded in natural tones, visually connect their strategy to market presence, reinforcing SGME as authentic custodians driving sustainable outcomes.

Ready to shape what’s next

DAIS launched SGME’s new brand with a forward-looking, purpose-driven voice reflecting their collaborative expertise and commitment to sustainability. The voice was tailored strategically for different audiences, adopting a more technical tone when necessary, while always remaining authoritative and impact-oriented. A flexible brand inventory ensured consistency across digital, print and social platforms. This consistency reinforced SGME’s positioning as Geoforming Solution Partners, while strengthening internal alignment and client communication. Supported by DAIS’s creative direction, SGME entered the market with clarity, confidence and a distinctive identity that reflects their future-focused solutions and delivers enduring value for generations to come.
